Potato variety Octa
Octa is an early table variety with a light yellow flesh and skin color. The long oval tubers have an attractive, clear and smooth skin. Octa’s tubers have a regular shape and size. For this reason, Octa is suitable for washing and pre-packing. Octa is above average strong against scab.

The planting distance for Octa size 28/35 is 26 to 28 centimeters. For size 35/50 this is 31 to 33 centimeters. We also recommend this planting distance for 50/60 cut seed potatoes. Always count the tubers and keep a closer planting distance for heavier soils.
The Octa potato is suitable for all soil types. For best results, plant the tubers in the white sprouts stage. We recommend treatment against Rhizoctonia during planting. Avoid condensation before and during planting to prevent contamination. Octa does not appear to be sensitive to Metribuzin.
At 80% emergence, we recommend spraying against Phytophthora. A second N fertilizer application is around the tuberization. Octa does not cause any problems with haulm killing.
Be careful with mother tubers and avoid harvest damage. Wait until the skin has matured before harvesting. After harvesting, we recommend providing good ventilation during storage until the potatoes are dry. During long-term storage, ventilate regularly and cool slowly to 4-5°C. For transport warm Octa gradually up to 12-15°C.
