The planting distance for Labella size 28/35 is 26 to 28 centimeters. For size 35/50, a distance of 31 to 33 centimeters is adviced. We also recommend this planting distance for 50/60 cut seed potatoes. Always count the tubers and keep in mind that heavier soils require a closer planting distance.

You can grow Labella on all soil types. For best results, plant this table variety in the white sprouts stage at a normal height in the ridge. Labella does not appear to be sensitive to Metribuzin. Weed control is preferably done before emergence. Treatment against Rhizoctonia during planting is preferred. To prevent contamination, you should prevent condensation.

Early application of magnesium and manganese has a positive effect on Labella. At 80% emergence you start spraying against blight. A second N fertilizer application is applied around the tuber setting. When necessary, start irrigation and start spraying against alternaria in time.

Our advice is to start haulm killing after 110 days. Extending the season by skipping haulm killing can cause a rough skin. Be careful with mother tubers and avoid harvest damage. After harvest, provide good ventilation during storage until the potatoes are dry. In case of long-term storage, you should regularly ventilate Labella and cool gradually.
